The Farewell Tour – A Message from Skin

Dear Skin Fans,

The first thing we would like to say is, a big thank to you for giving us 18 amazing months. Your support and loyalty has been overwhelming. When we were asked to get back together, to play at the Download festival, there was a certain amount of hesitancy before we all said yes. We asked questions like, “Will anyone remember us? Does anyone care about Skin’s music in 2010?”. Looking back now, it seems incredible that we ever doubted our decision to reunite.

Skin - Breaking The Silence

The journey hasn’t been easy, as we all have full time jobs, families to look after, and many sacrifices have been made. The response from the fans has made it all worth it. The reunion concert at Download 2009 prompted the decision to make one final album, to say thank you to all the loyal Skins fans that have kept our music and memory alive. The profits from the acoustic album and DVD financed the recording of a new album, which is titled ‘Breaking the Silence’ (available for pre-order from our website

To bring this incredible journey to a finale, we are playing a farewell tour in December. We have tried to get to most of the major parts of Britain. Availability and timing played a large part of our selection, and we are sorry if we are not coming to a town near you. The dates are as follows:

O2 Academy Newcastle
O2 Manchester Academy
Norwich Waterfront
O2 Academy Bournemouth
Camden Underworld
O2 Academy Birmingham
O2 Academy Oxford
Nottingham Rock City

Toby Jepson (from Little Angels & GUN), and Matti Alfonzetti (ex Jagged Edge) will be supporting us on the tour as they have done over the past 18 months. We plan to make this the best tour ever, and will be setting up a page on the website asking the fans what songs they want us to play on the tour.

Once again thank you for your support we could not do any of this without you.
Yours sincerely,

Andy, Dicki, Myke and Nev

  1. Damn shame that it’s a farewell tour.
What was the point in getting back together in the first place?
My music tastes have changed since the 1990’s.( i listen to stuff like BEHEMOTH/ GALLHAMMER etc nowadays)
Would love to go to one the gigs but i doubt i’ll be able to.
I remember when you played gigs in Hull – i still have the photos.

Take care and I hope the tour is a success.

  2. It might be short but at least it’s sweet! We’d all love the chaps to stick around but just as your musical tastes have changed, so have their lives. It’d be great to see you out on the tour though – thanks for your comment.
