Myke Gray has announced a return to music on Facebook today. In his post he mentions that although it may not makenany money, and may well cost him some, he would rather get the music that is in him out before he dies! Stay tuned for more info as it comes. Follow Myke on Facebook here to see his post.
Apologies for the website outage. Someone forgot to pay the bills…
Which brings me onto the next subject: the future of the Skin website. Any thoughts?
Houston doesn’t care but we have a problem… working on a fix!
Stay tuned and we hope to get Born To Rock Records back up and running quickly.
In case you weren’t following Dicki on Facebook (no? click here!) you might not know that he has a glorious new website where you can keep up to date with his doings. Check out DickiFliszar.com to catch up on his LA shenanigans with former members of The Doors and catch him on tour in the USA this month. And if that wasn’t enough, Dicki’s spring newsletter can be viewed here.
It comes with great sadness that we have to announce that Neville MacDonald has left Skin with immediate effect.
He wished us to post the following statement:
[quote style=”boxed”]“For deep, personal reasons, I have quit the band. Those closest to me fully understand my reasons and have been unswerving in their support; something I am truly grateful for.
To you, our fans, I extend my sincere apologies and, of course, my gratitude. Your support over the last few years has been nothing short of ‘overwhelming’ and I thank you so much for that.
I love you all,
Keep on rockin'”
This means that all future Skin appearances have been cancelled which includes the Download Festival and the 20th Anniversary Tour. At this point there is no additional information but we will post if/as it comes in. For those who have bought tickets for upcoming gigs, please see your ticket agent for a full refund.
The Official Skin Website wishes Nev all the best for the future, and his service to rock magnificence over the past 20 years can never be forgotten. No doubt the decision is a difficult one and we would like to thank him for the music he helped create.
The stage times for Skin’s “Half Hour of Power” at Download are up on the website. For the lackadaisical link clickers among you Skin will hit the stage at 13:50 to 14:20. Get in early kids and spend the afternoon recovering…
The Red White and Blues hit the stage on Saturday at 11:45 until 12:10.
If you have been keeping up with Skin drummer Dicki Fliszar’s American interests you may have noticed his work with the Blank Faces.
They have a new song out via Bandcamp titled Veins which is fair old slab of rock. As Dicki himself states:
Here it is: The new single “Veins” from us: The Blank Faces!! It rocks at the start, then more rock in the middle and very rock at the end. If you like that amount of rock I promise you, you will like it 😉
It features Kemble Walters on lead vocals and guitar, Adam D’Zurilla on bass and backing vocals, me on drums and backing vocals and Kemble also mixed and produced this jam!
Go to the bandcamp site and get it for the amount you want. For free or for $99 – it’s up to you 😉
Also, sorry about that post title. It just kind of happened…
We’re running a poll over on our Facebook page to gauge what your favourite Skin album is. Check it out!
Skin have added a fourth date to the 20th Anniversary Tour. The band will kick off at the Grimsby Yardbirds ably supported by the Red White & Blues. Yes! Myke will be busy…
Does it feel like 20 years has passed since the début album? Time flies when you’re having fun, eh?
Skin will be returning to Donington Park for Download 2013 on 14th June, 2013. The boys will be gracing the Encore Stage in a lineup which is quite stunning (Iron Maiden… C’mon!) .
Tickets start at £170 for a weekend arena pass, but day tickets will be made available in due course. Check out the gig page for more info as we get it, and help support the website by using the affiliate link to purchase your tickets.
