Dear Skin Fans, The first thing we would like to say is, a big thank to you for giving us 18 amazing months. Your support and loyalty has been overwhelming. When we were asked to get back together, to play at the Download festival, there was a certain amount of hesitancy before we all said yes. We asked questions like, ‘Will anyone remember us? Does anyone care about Skin’s music in 2010?’. Looking back now, it seems incredible that we ever doubted our decision to reunite.
To bring this incredible journey to a finale, we are playing a farewell tour in Dec. We have tried to get to most of the major parts of Britain. Availability and timing played a large part of our selection, and we are sorry if we are not coming to a town near you. The dates are as follows:
Toby Jepson (ex Little Angels & Gun), and Matti Alfonzetti (ex Jagged Edge) will be supporting us on the tour as they have done over the past 18 months. We plan to make this the best tour ever, and will be setting up a page on the website asking the fans what songs they want us to play on the tour. Once again thank you for your support we could not do any of this without you. Andy, Dicki, Myke and Nev Discuss this in the Skin forum... [2 replies]

I must say when I saw the news I was somewhat gutted, however, I have to reitterate some of the sentiments already posted on this board. We have had a year of Skin we all would never had expected or even hoped for, let alone new material, and for that guys, I do thank you from the bottom of my heart. For me, what has been more important is that my teenage daughter and her boyfriend actually got to see and live a skin concert (or two, or three....) as they became big Skin fans before the re-union in 2009, and they thoroughly enjoyed them all. I can totally understand the band has other commitments, work and family (not in that order) and to have done what they have in the last year with those commitments is quite astounding to be honest, and deserves praise. As much as it upsets me to hear that Skin will be calling it a day at the end of 2010, I am going to make damn well sure that I get to at least 2 of the gigs (work and family comitments for more than just the band :$) and help the rest of us fans give them a farewell I hope they remember for a long long time to come. Still, again as upsetting it is to know this is the last tour, it is also pleasing we have more new materiel to play along with the older and fantastic stuff we already own. Thanks again to Skin and the people that helped make this mini reunion possible, you know who you are Tag by echo125 Friday, 23 July 2010 08:34 Don't know if this will get read, but thanks for the comeback. Was gutted the first time you called it a day, especially as I couldn't make it to the last show. Like many others, I have been a huge fan of you since first hearing one of your tracks. Yes I have all the albums, singles, vids, etc (yawn! lol) and I have seen you many times live and loved every moment of it.
Your music has helped me deal with bad times and celebrate good times and your albums are always being listened to (and sung along to, badly!) in the car. Have already bought my ticket for Rock City (this morning) so I'll be there for the last one this time. Sad to see such an awesome band go again, but real glad we had some extra for a couple of years - good luck guys and thanks again! |
