Skin To Support Chickenfoot
Skin News -
Gigs
Will there be life after Download for Skin? Well there's certainly something on the cards after last weekend it was confirmed that the band were requested to support Chickenfoot for their London show on June 25th. In case you didn't know, Chickenfoot are new project featuring Van Halen's Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony, guitar maestro Joe Satriani and Chili's drummer Chad Smith. Quite a line up! For more info check out www.chickenfoot.us. Thier debut album is out now (available from all good stores such as hmv.com)
What does this mean for Skin fans? Well...not much unless you already have your ticket...they sold out last week!
We've been getting requests for a while as to where Skinfreaks can get hold of the band's CDs and music. With Ebay selling copies for up to £50 (I kid you not), I thought it would be useful to give you a nod to what I consider to be the best online music download source. Fans of Apple might bemoan a like of iTunes lpug here, but you cannot argue with a 320kbs DRM free mp3 in my mind, so HMV is the winner.
So if you are missing these classics from your collection DOWNLOAD THIS INSTANT!
Skin (Debut Album) - £6.99 This includes additional b-sides from the singles.
For the first time in over eleven years, Andy Robbins, Dicki Fliszar, Myke Gray and Neville MacDonald stood together in a room in Yorkshire. Skin are well and truely back!
Over the next few days, Skin will be rehearsing material for the live shows next week which culminates in their appearance on the Main Stage at Download 2009, holed up in a house in the north of England.
Despite recent appearances on radio without Andy and Dicki, this is now a full 100% electric Skin. Wherever this road may take the boys, the next week represents a new start in many respects. They cannot wait to get back on stage, crank up the volume and rock out.
We'll see you next week...the boys are back in town!
For all those Skinfreaks unable to attend Download, there's some good news! The main stage of the festival is being streamed live from http://www.downloadfestival.co.uk/. Make sure you tune in on the afternoon of Sunday, 14th June, 2009 - it'll be epic!
For all fans attending the two London gigs next week, please make sure your travel arrangments take into account the Tube Strike that is planned for the 9-10 of June. I don't think the RMT have it in for Skin fans...but the timing is awful!
The band will be taking the stage at 8:30 with no support slots so that they can get off at a reasonable time (and you lot can have a snooze and relax before Download!)
Skin's very own web shop has now gone live...filled with one t-shirt?!! Ah well, we might only have one item, but it's a bloody good item! The Skin Reunited T-shirt is priced at £15.
You can reach the shop through this link, or by using the main site menu (it's the link called Shop in case you were wondering!). The shop is slightly separate from the main site, so if you want to track your orders, you will need to re-register, but this is optional.
MYKE and NEV are appearing LIVE on Total Rock Radio (www.totalrock.com) this sunday at 12noon. They'll be doing an interview and playin live and acoustic in the studio.
Shortly after the acoustic gig in Pontypridd, Myke and Nev recorded this message to the fans. Suffice to say, they are overwhelmed by the support of the fans and are looking forward getting back to the full electric Skin next month!
Check out the photo section for images of the Acoustic show in Pontypridd. Suffice to say, the boys rocked with a fantastic set list that covered all three albums, plus the hardly heard "Wings of an Angel" and "Which Are The Tears".

And as a special treat, the full version of "Tower of Strength" can be found here! The sound quality is not the best, but it shouldwhet your appitite!
